When I saw the segment on the Today show on "Saving Sammy" I was literally frozen in my tracks while folding laundry! I saw the video of Sammy's "odd" behavior and thought I was watching video of my son, who had similar issues when he was about 8 years old. I took him to countless doctors and eventually entered him into a special education program for emotionally impaired children. My son had problems with strep throat when he was younger and when he was 4 we had to have his tonsils and adnoids removed because the doctor said he would continue to get tonsilitis (he also had "kissing tonsil" even when his throat wasn't swollen). when I saw the segment it made me wonder! He has grown out of his unusual behavior now but, it still makes me wonder.

I had issues with strep as a child. I even had scarlett fever. When I was in fifth grade I began to suffer from OCD symptoms but eventually stopped prior to high school. I had a grandmother who died of cancer at that time so I always associated it with a fear of death. (I was a germ phobe and washed hands constantly and took several showers...etc) My son, who also has had issues with strep, had issues with ticks when he was younger. It really makes me wonder if there is a connection.

Keep posting stuff like this i really like it
